Beech Mountain Summer Concerts

The summer concert series at the Beech Alpen Summer Concert series is very popular and  features well known local bands at the Beech Alpen Pavilion every Sunday beginning May through September at 5pm.

This weekly event is attracting a great number of local folks and guests alike. The upcoming line up at the Beech Alpen Inn is:

  • August 23 - Klee & Mike Show
  • August 30 - The Lucky Strikes Orchestra (LSO)
  • Sept 6 - The Swing Set Big Band

Beech Mountain Resort - Join us for live music at 5506'!! Our newest skybar is the perfect place to enjoy a drink or food while you listen to music!

NC High Country live music events are happening, but the best spot to hear local musicians has to be at 5506′ at Beech Mountain Resort. Live music and spirited festivities continue to highlight activities at Beech Mountain Resort all summer long!

Each Saturday, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., local artists will play live music at 5506’, the highest bar and restaurant in the high country. With a great selection of food, drinks, and views 5506′ is the perfect setting to spend the afternoon.

Don’t miss the spectrum of sounds from blue grass, folk, country and Americana, also covering traditional jazz, blues, and rock & roll.

With something for everyone, the Summer Music Series is the flawless ending to a complete experience at Beech Mountain Resort. Enjoy a special weekend with us!

5506’ is the highest skybar in the east. With temperatures rarely exceeding 75 degrees, this is the perfect spot to cool down on a hot summer day. Its beautiful view and cozy lounge setting make it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good meal or a cool beverage.

The most beautiful view in the high country can also be rented out for a private event. Lift tickets to access 5506’ can be purchased in the resort village.

Mile High Kite and Craft Festival Sept. 5th & 6th

Beech Mountain Mile High Kite Festival 2015

Ever wondered how much string it takes to fly a kite a mile high? Only a couple hundred feet if you attend the Mile High Kite Festival on Beech Mountain. Join us high atop beautiful Beech Mountain for the Mile High Kite & Craft Festival. Over 50 crafters and artisans will be in showcasing their works of art along with great food, music, kite flying, and fun for the whole family. We will have a kids’ fun zone with games, face painting and a bounce house too. Labor Day Weekend (September 5th and 6th) – Beech Mountain is the place to be!

The Beech Mountain community welcomes back the Richmond Air Force and Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society Kiting Clubs. They will demonstrate flying techniques, and also display their kites. Contests will be held for the best decorated, smallest and largest kites. The first 150 kids will get a free kite for the competition each day, or kites can be purchased at the event or you can bring your own. Did we mention that it is Free???
