Fred's Summer Sunset Concert Series
is an annual tradition in the summer on Beech Mountain. These shows are the perfect excuse to head 5,506 feet up to beautiful Beech Mountain and make a day of the scenic town.
The Series kicked off on July 12th with the amazing Cockman Family. These concerts run through August 9th each Sunday for the next 4 weeks and start promptly at 6:30 pm at Fred’s Gazebo. The current schedule is:

- July 26 - Strictly Clean and Decent
- August 2 - Rebecca Eggers-Gryder with Amantha Mill
- August 9 - The Watauga Community Band

Another summer concert series that is very popular is the Beech Alpen Summer Concert Series featuring well known local bands at the Beech Alpen Pavilion every Sunday beginning May through September at 5pm.

Ever wondered how much string it takes to fly a kite a mile high? Only a couple hundred feet if you attend the Mile High Kite Festival on Beech Mountain. Join us high atop beautiful Beech Mountain for the Mile High Kite & Craft Festival. Over 50 crafters and artisans will be in showcasing their works of art along with great food, music, kite flying, and fun for the whole family. We will have a kids’ fun zone with games, face painting and a bounce house too. Labor Day Weekend (September 5th and 6th) – Beech Mountain is the place to be!
The Beech Mountain community welcomes back the Richmond Air Force and Wings Across Carolina Kiting and Okra Society Kiting Clubs. They will demonstrate flying techniques, and also display their kites. Contests will be held for the best decorated, smallest and largest kites. The first 150 kids will get a free kite for the competition each day, or kites can be purchased at the event or you can bring your own. Did we mention that it is Free???
