Beech Mountain’s Annual Kiddo Fishing Derby returns to Lake Coffey this year on June 4th. This event is a great time to get the young ones outdoors to experience fishing. The derby is open to all kids 12 and under. License not needed.
The Kiddo Fishing Derby will be held Saturday June 4th from 9am - 12pm. The derby will take place at Lake Coffey on Beech Mountain.
This is a free fishing derby for kids age 12 and under. Kids are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear. Limited poles and tackle will be available.

Back again is the Cool 5 Race. This event has grown from a single race in 2006 into a multi-race format contested over two days. There’s a competition for every fitness level and every member of the family.
Course-side lodging specials are available, along with multiple pre/post-race activities. Other on-mountain activities take place as part of Beech Mountain’s June Family Fun Month.
This year will mark the 9th year for A Cool 5 Race and we are gearing up for our best race yet. Be sure to register and don’t miss out on this event. More awards, giveaways, and after-party festivities are in store to make a great weekend. Returning will be our “Taste of Beech” on the Friday before the race.

One of the High Country's premier Independence Day celebrations is at the Beech Mountain Resort. The Beech Mountain Chamber of Commerce, Beech Mountain Tourism Development Authority, Town of Beech Mountain and the Beech Mountain Volunteer Fire Department host this event.
After perfecting the seasonings and charcoal blends, our barbeque (pork and turkey) is arguably the best in the High Country. Enjoy music, dancing, games for the kids, face painting, tasty treats and more at beautiful Beech Mountain Resort. Take a scenic lift ride or dance under the stars.
This year the Roasting of the Hog takes place on Saturday, July 2 at 6pm.
