Beech Mountain Metric 2017On Saturday, May 20, 2017, Beech Mountain will host the fourth annual Beech Mountain Metric bicycle ride. Over 300 riders are signed up to participate in this event. The Beech Mountain Metric is now the first leg of a triple crown series of rides with the Beech Mountain Metric (Spring); Blood, Sweat & Gears (Summer); and Blowing Rock (Fall).

The Beech Mountain Metric is a classic mountain metric century that finishes at the top of Beech Mountain, famed climb of past Tour DuPont rides. With 8000 ft of climbing, a true test for the strongest of riders, a 43 mile distance with 5600 ft of climbing, and new in 2017 is a 23 mile option that starts and finishes in Banner Elk.

BSG Events is a 501(c3) fund raising non-profit whose net proceeds are donated to local charities and public safety agencies in the High Country.

On the day of the ride, the Beech Mountain Parkway will be closed in front of Town Hall from about 11:00am until 3:00pm. Traffic will detour behind Town Hall during this time. Please be careful driving the parkway after 11:00am as riders will be climbing the front side of Beech Mountain.
